So when I heard they were coming out with a video game that is physically active I had mixed feelings. I first thought it was a good idea. With all the gaming going on, it's about time some physical activity is integrated into them. It is also a good way for families to interact and have a night together.....But how practical is that? How many families really do play games together anymore? Not as many as I'd like to think! How about playing sports? Go outside! This should not be a substitute for a more balanced amount of activity. It also shouldn't be used as an electronic babysitter either. Plopping your kids in front of the TV and telling yourself that that is enough for the day doesn't work. If the game is used as a game, and not the only movement a child has during the day, then this WII is a WIInner with me:)
I agree that this should not be a substitute for actual physical activity but, this game really does and has been proven to get your heart rate pumping. The WII Fit I actually own and it tracks your balance, height, weight, heart rate, calories burned. It really is no different than home work out equipment if it is used the right way.
